
“Do What You Love, Don’t Settle Just For Pay Cheque, Build A Career That You Are Passionate About”- Says Dr. Caroline Pule, South African Born Medical Scientist
Meet – Dr Caroline Pule, South African born Medical Scientist, Independent Medical Researcher, Manager for Global Surgery Research Cluster and MSc/PhD Fellowship convener at Cape Town University.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Sciences, Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from the University of Stellenbosch, Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Honours in Medical Biotechnology and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Biotechnology from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Tygerberg Hospital Children’s Trust and Founder of Caroline Pule Science and Literacy Foundation (CPSLF), which helps establish science clubs in disadvantaged communities.
In 2020, Dr Caroline Pule was recognized as one of the M&G 200 Young South Africans and she was named among the Inspiring Fifty South Africa 2020 winners.
She is a UCT-Harvard Programme of Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) research fellow, UNICEF fellow and her primary research focuses on TB Surgery, drug-resistance and drug-discovery and Stillbirths data reporting strengthening
She is also a volunteer at the CrowdFight Covid-19 initiative, a global organisation where volunteer scientists from different countries are working together by adding their expertise in their respective fields to support the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
