Actor Yemi Solade Says He Was Once Paid To Pretend To Have A Physical Disability As Part Of A Staged Healing Miracle In A Church

Yemi Solade, the Nollywood actor, says he was once “paid to pretend to have a physical disability as part of a staged healing miracle in a church”.

In a recent interview with Feel Right News TV, the ace actor said the incident took place before he rose to fame in Nollywood, at a time when he was still a student.

According to Solade, he was approached to pose as a person with a disability during a church programme where a purported miraculous healing was scheduled to occur.

The 66-year-old film star said he agreed to participate and was compensated for his role.

“I have been used for miracle then, when I was not popular. I acted as a cripple, they paid,” he said.

The actor further recounted that he and others involved in the scheme would often use their earnings to buy alcohol.

“We would use the money to drink beer. They would come and carry us from our department,” he said.

Solade said the individuals behind the staged miracle are still alive, but declined to reveal their identities.

“The people involved are still alive; I don’t just want to mention names,” he added.

The actor recently explained why he stopped attending church services over a decade ago.

“God created me in His image. I stopped going to church 13 years ago because I was not finding it funny any longer. Though I am a child of God,” he said.

“My life is not orchestrated towards a particular day. There is no Sunday in the Bible. Without God, I will not be alive.”
