Meet Entrepreneur, Shehu Bello, He Installs CCTV, He’s The Founder Of Octad Technologies

Shehu Bello is the Founder Of Octad Technologies, right from his childhood, he has had this desire to become his own boss, train and employ people. He”s gradually achieving his dreams. He speaks to Elorasblog in this interview.

Please tell us a little bit about your background?

I’m Shehu Bello, from Agbede edo state Nigeria.
I studied computer science at Lagos state polytechnic ND in 2012.

And I’m from a polygamous home, my mum had 9 of us, 6 females and 3 males in which I’m the 6th and the second male child.

I love making friends.

While we were younger we all had dreams and aspirations, have you fullfilled any?

At my very young age I have always wanted to be creative,
Some times I think of being my own boss to enable me create job opportunities for others, and to teach them my own profession as well.

I can say I have fulfilled part of my inspiration but I still need more from myself.

I’m also open for learning and knowing more innovations.

What motivated you to start up Octad Technologies?

What motivates me more its mainly the situation in the country.

If you are not creative or proactive, I discovered that it won’t be easy for some of us. There was a time I was working in a law firm as a secretary, my boss was actually sending me to courts here and there till I became known in so many courts in Lagos.

One day I sat down and had a rethink and concluded that no matter how long I have worked with lawyers, I can never 👎 be one, so since I’m unable to go to school to study law, I decided to do other things, that’s how I left to find my self a good hand work.

Now I’m proudly a cctv cameras technician.

At what point did you discover your talent in installations of CCTV.?

Is simply when some of my clients started appreciating the installations that I did for them and referring me to more people then I discovered that this is really making sense.

Did you attend any form of training?

Yes I did.
I was employed in the company as a staff but my reason there wasn’t because of the salary,
I went there simply because of the training and they never knew.
When I got the experience that I wanted, then I left because they don’t pay good salary anyway.

There was no how I was going to remain with them.

What are the major challenges you’ve encountered and also setback you’ve faced doing this business?

One of the major challenges I have is that we as Nigerians don’t values Nigerians.

I meani that we don’t values ourselves
The job that I can do very well some of my fellow Nigerians rather give it out to Lebanese, Chinese or other foreigners they ended up paying more and funny enough the foreigners will still use some of us that you deny giving the job opportunities to do the job and give us peanuts.
Why, is because of lack of trust and uplifting us to attain our desire goals.

In Nigeria people hardly install CCtv in offices & schools, can you briefly highlight the importance of CCTV?

Cctv cameras is one of the best technologies you can have in ur homes, offices, schools e.tc
You can view it remotely in whereever you are in the world 🌍
You can see what happens in ur homes or offices or wherever you install it you can play back a month footages or maybe some months back .

To see what happened and how it happened in ur various homes.
I advise you to install cctv cameras now.

Where do you see Octad technologies in five years?

I see us in a greater heights in the nearest future
