From Being Abandoned At Birth To Becoming An Inspirational Radio Personality, Meet Fikile Cele
Meet – Fikile Cele, South African born inspirational Radio Personality, Life Coach, Advocate for Abandoned Children and Orphans.
At 2 months old, she was sadly abandoned in a box outside a factory in Chatsworth, Durban. The only thing that was left with her in that box was her birth certificate, the only known thing of her identity.
Her mother was 16 years old when she fell pregnant with Fikile and ran away from her home in Johannesburg to Durban because she was afraid of her family at the time. Fikile was born at RK Khan Hospital on 5 April 1999 and later abandoned in a box outside a factory in Chatsworth. .
She was found by her adoptive mom who is an Indian woman and at that point she was adopted as a 2 month old baby. Fikile’s biological mother soon came to look for her and was given visitation rights through her adoptive parents.
“I don’t remember my biological mother, as she passed away when I was just mere 5 years old. I have overcome many struggles in my life with some being that I was told that I don’t belong here and with the many illnesses that I also went through as a young child, I learned that with God nothing is impossible,” said Fikile.
“I am forever grateful to my adopted parents, even when social norms and customs were totally against me, they stood with me and showed me with so much love, compassion, kindness and support in every aspect of my life,” she added.
I’m here to tell you that it is okay to be different, okay to be you and that I am worth it and so are you,” concluded Fikile.
