How This Widow Who Encountered So Many Challenges Now Runs A Successful Borehole Drilling Company

FOUNDER SPOTLIGHT

“My name is Santana Tarusenga
(Tambudzayi), born 08/09/89. My parents divorced when I was 2 causing me to not have any stability because I had to live in between houses.

I went to Queen Elizabeth High school, which is where I started a small business because my mother had 4 of us and I could see she was struggling. When I left high school I went on to get a diploma in marketing and an advanced diploma.

I started a chicken business and it blossomed into something I never expected however I had to shift as this was not my passion. I used my income from my chicken business to start personal shopping which gave me more profit .

At 28 I’d managed to build a decent home for my children and my late husband played a huge role in my ultimate break through. We started a borehole drilling company namely ‘bluesea drilling and I also opened a furniture showroom called ‘classic living.

Sadly I lost my husband in 2019 and typical of an African family set up the relatives took all the machines away and that’s when I knew it was time to wake.

I worked like a donkey until I rebuilt my business and we are one of the most recognised legitimate borehole drilling companies. This year we won 3 awards locally and we were so humbled.”
