From Being A Teenage Mother To Becoming An Inspirational Medical Doctor, Meet Dr Thandeka Ngcobo

SHE FINALLY MADE IT!!!

Meet – Dr Thandeka Ngcobo, 28-year-old South African born inspirational and trailblazing Medical Doctor, Entrepreneur and Public Speaker.

She hails from a small village called Hlutankungu in Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal. She and her seven siblings were raised by a single mother and later became a teenage mother herself, Dr Ngcobo has succeeded against all odds.

Instead of being defeated by a teenage pregnancy, she matriculated as one of the top 10 students in the region and went to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), becoming the second graduate in her family.

“My late mother is my heroine. She could have told me to stay home and raise my daughter, but instead she gave me the chance to thrive. And thrive I did,” she said.

Dr Thandeka Ngcobo is currently a Medical Officer at Rietvlei Hospital, she is studying towards specializing in Pediatrics, to ensure the children of South Africa are cared for.

She is one medical professional who is always prepared to reach beyond her line of duty. When she isn’t treating patients Dr Ngcobo serves as the Corporate Affairs Officer at Ngcobo Empire, an Afrocentric multimedia company. Her latest business venture is the acquisition of Maguya Steel (Pty) Ltd, a steel manufacturing company, in which she is the majority shareholder.

Dr Thandeka Ngcobo is also passionate about women and youth empowerment, she serves as an Executive Board Member at the Godisanang Youth Empowering Foundation.
