The kind gesture of a bottled water hawker has not only made him an internet sensation but has attracted financial gifts from people.

The young man student’s account was said to have been flagged after it hit over N300k in money received.

In a recent interview, the viral bottled water hawker said there was actually no inspiration behind his gesture to the prisoners.

Good deeds often do not go unrewarded and a hawker’s kind deed to prisoners have made him richer in thousands in hours.

The young man became an internet sensation after he was spotted sharing his personal money to prisoners in a correctional service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos.

He said there was no inspiration behind his action.

A recent update about the hawker by @rockyemmyphotography on Instagram, indicates that his student account has been flagged as he received well over N300k in financial donations.

“‘I can’t put a figure to how much we have raised yet cause i guess his account was flagged at about 1pm yesterday immediately he hit 317k cause its a student account,” a statement on the Instagram page reads.

In a recent interview, the bottled hawker stated that there was no inspiration behind his kind act to the prisoners. Admitting that he wasn’t well to do, the young man said he took pity on the prisoners as unlike him, they do not have freedom and as such could not enjoy ordinary things like moving about freely.

He explained that he had started off with one of the prisoners by giving the person N100 but eventually shared same denomination round as other prisoners cried out for theirs.
