Proud Lady Graduates With First Class Honours In English Literature At The University Of Birmingham

A young lady named Amira Osbourne is estactic at the moment as she just graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class Honours in English Literature.

Guess what…..

I graduated! 🎉

My time at the University of Birmingham has been a rollercoaster, but I can proudly say that I will be leaving this journey with a First Class Honours in English Literature ☺️

I’ve learnt so much and met so many amazing people along the way, but to keep it short and sweet, here are 2 things that I’m especially proud of:

  1. Completing my dissertation – If you had told my second year self that I’d go on to write 12,000 words on children’s picturebooks, I probably would’ve thought you were a little crazy, but sitting here today, I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved! I’ve learnt that children’s picturebooks are much more complex than you might expect, and that they can provide as much value to adults as they can to children (so if you secretly still love your childhood book collection, don’t worry!) 📚
  2. Presenting my dissertation at the Research Showcase- I was given the opportunity to give a 10-minute presentation to a group of second year English Literature students at the Dissertation Research Showcase. I saw students who felt anxious about their dissertation, some who felt excited and others who felt completely lost. Having been in that same position a year ago and now looking back at it fondly, it was interesting to see how quickly a year can change your perception! ⏰
