My name is Promise Excel, I am a creative writer, a hypnotic storyteller, a media entrepreneur and the founder of MaverickExcel.com, a digital media brand where young entrepreneurs, and business owners can find information, advice, tips, resources and tools for starting, running and growing successful businesses.

How were you able to raise fund for your business?

It feels great. Although, it comes with lots of responsibilities. Waking up every morning to do what I love is one of the most happiest things in my life.

What inspired to start up your busines?
What inspired me to start my business was that I wanted a platform where I can mentor, inspire and empower young people to pursue entrepreneurship and build sustainable businesses that give real value.

How were you able to raise fund for your business?

I’ve never had to raise funds for my business. I used my personal savings to start my business. When it wasn’t enough, I went to look for a job.

So, at a point I was running my business and doing my job side by side.

Until recently, about 18 months ago, I quit my job to focus on my business full time

Yeah sure, it has been financially rewarding.

I’m not where I dream to be financially but the income from my business pays the bills and do other stuff.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
In five years, I want Maverick Excel to be among the top 5 digital media brands in Africa.
