Joseph Ejeomo is harding working, and highly talented in the area of leadership. He speaks to Elora’s blog in this interview.

Please tell us about your background?
My name is Joseph Ejeomo, fondly called The Activator by people. I am also widely called John Maxwell of Africa due to my field of specialization which is leadership. I am a speaker, trainer, coach and author of three powerful books: The Hypnotic Leader, The Growth Test and The Activator Codes.

You’re an Entrepreneur, tell us more about your business?
As an entrepreneur, my company GreenPoint is into training and development of individuals and organization to raise next leaders. Simply put, we raise leaders for global relevance.

What inspired you to start up your business?

I was inspired to start GreenPoint to help alot more people develop the leader within them. I had lived in the background, relegating the leader within me, but when i got hold of the greatness that lies within me, i felt i should help a lot more people unleash the greatness within. The vision is to transform over 1,000,000 lives and we live this daily.

How were you able to raise fund for your business?
I was able to raise funds for GreenPoint from my savings then. GreenPoint was established when i was serving (NYSC) back then, so the initial capital was from my ‘alawee’ back then. Now, most of our fundings come from earnings or profits we realized from our services. We reinvest into the business to keep it going.

How do you advertise your business?
We run Ads on social media. But most of our advertisement comes from referrals. Those who have experienced us will go back to tell the rest. Also we do influencer marketing , whereby a known authority will always say something good about us after testing our services or products.

What are the challenges you’ve faced while running your business?

The challenge i had then was getting the right team to work with me or believe in my vision. It might interest you to know that i lost my team twice. But right now, i have the best team anyone can wish for. They are the super guys and ladies who make it possible for us to live our dream and vision.

How does it feel being your own boss?

For years, i have been preaching living free. Being your own boss gives you time to explore the world. You have the time to do what you want to do, when you want to do it and how you want to do it. That is the highest form of freedom and that is the best life anyone can live. So being your own boss is awesome.

Has it been financially rewarding?
Sure, it has been financially rewarding. I mean people get to pay you to do what you love while you transform lives. I can say it has been financially rewarding.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
In five years, i see GreenPoint becoming the No. 1 leadership firm not just in Nigeria but Africa. In one of our platforms, we have over 19,500 members present in 122 countries and still counting. This goes to show that in the next five years, Nigeria will have the best leadership firm and Academy in the world. It is possible because #WeAreGreenPoint.
