I don’t even know where to start the story from 🤩 but what I knew was that my dad didn’t believed me at first.

I got my admission notification from FUTA the same day my twin brother Hussein Orekoya called to inform me he is coming home finally that he is now a graduate.

I got the admission notification immediately he hung up the call, I was shocked 😳. I have to call him back that I have been offered admission into FUTA that I just saw it now 😀.

He told me to get it printed and not to show dad till he gets to Lagos.

My Dad was at home by the time he arrived so we went straight to greet him. He congratulated him for graduating and was happy he has an Engineer as a son. Then he turned to me, lols. He said everything he had been saying to me ever since I have been at home. I gave birth to the two of you the same day, now he is an Engineer. I didn’t send you to start working and all that🙄 – then I was working as an Account Officer at Meristem Nigeria.

We were just laughing and later showed him the admission letter 😀, he was surprised and couldn’t believed what we showed and told him. He gave me the acceptance fee for the benefit of the doubt. I am sure, he was very happy on my convocation to see that I truly gained admission to study #economics in FUTA. He make sure he left with my signed project and brochure on my convocation day😀

When I finally resumed school😊. I have to start introducing myself to the people that knew my twin when he was in FUTA. I am not the one you know, I am his twin brother. I introduced myself till my final year😅.

I met different people every corner of the school even off-campus where I don’t expect to see anyone that knows someone that looks like me🙁. At some point, it got embarrassing because they also don’t believe and I have to do a long talking. Some even asked what was I doing when he was in FUTA. Some people thought he came back for his masters or he had an extra year. I could remember a guy approached me in the school hostel – #Akindeko, telling me he loved my courage😂.

Until I showed him my student ID Card before he could believe me.

During my time in school, I focused on making myself better in all ramifications; entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal development. I represented my department at the Student’s Representative Council (SRC) arm of the Students’ Union(FUTASU). I represented my school in the #CFASocietyNigeria Equity Research Challenge – 2020/2021. I volunteered as a graphics designer to different organizations and religious body #myenvironmentismineinitiative, #mssnFUTA. I freelanced my graphics skills both locally and internationally on #Fiverr just to survive because no salary or free money anymore, lols.

I thank God I got the skill, it saved me and still saving me😀. I also did some other middleman’s deals just to make some extra money.
