Man Who Completed His Masters Degree Abroad Says He Got 6 PHD Offers From Different Countries

A man named Daniel Abode has recounted his academic journey on LinkedIn.

He wrote:

📌 I started this year with a folded arm, hoping for the best from a year I would be concluding a phase in my life and transiting to a new one.

📌 This year reminded me of 2012 when I completed Secondary school in the town of Akure and was to make a life-defining decision of what course to study (learning towards a career path) and where to study.

📌 Of 2019 when I completed my NYSC with no hope of what next until I received an invitation for a graduate trainee program from MainOne a few days to the pre-departure ceremony.

📌 Same 2019 yielded me the #opportunity to travel out of Nigeria for the first time as an Erasmus+ Scholar for a two years Masters’s Program in France and the UK.

▶️ Easily, you can deduce that this master’s program ended this year.

🔴 Yes! 2021 earned me two #MSc degree.

🔴 I concluded my master thesis with contributions to 3 #publications in top journal and conferences.

🔴 I completed 14 courses on Coursera (60+ weeks of online courses).

🔴 I interviewed for 11 Doctoral positions.

🔴 I got 6 #phd offers from 6 countries – #France #usa #canada #italy #uk and #denmark .

🔴 I accepted the offer for a European Industrial Doctorate involving Aalborg University Denmark, Nokia Denmark, and Bosch Germany.

This year was far from perfect. But I appreciate God for how it turned out.

Here on LinkedIn, I was continually inspired by Tony O. Elumelu, C.O.N, Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Rita Orji, PhD, Kelechukwu Onwukamike (Dr. rer. nat.) (Ph.D), and it was interesting to see a lot of Nigeria undergraduates like Emmanuel Nduka gathering influence on this professional platform.

2022 will be the year to learn a lot for me, with several possibilities of failure and success. I look forward to all the positives loaded therein.
