Lady Who Wrote Jamb Twice & Didn’t Qualify To Study Medicine, Becomes A Successful Lecturer, Says Never Let Failure Stop You

A lady named Glory Edozien has shared a short story on her career journey path. She narrated how she had to write jamb twice to qualify for medicine because her dad insisted that she must study the course.

But she could not qualify even after trying a second time. She ended up study geography education and today she’s a lecturer.

Sharing the amazing story on her linkedIn platform, she wrote:

I did Jamb twice.

The first time my score was 188

The second time, 189.

My father’s prayers for me to study medicine at University of Ibadan had now turned to “God any University, please!”

The day we drove into the gates of Delta State University, Abraka, I was convinced my dad was playing a joke. How could I have left the tall senate building of UniLag to come here! But my shakara quickly gave way when even Abraka was about to reject me for not having the prerequisite score to study Biochemistry.

My father spoke to the lady doing the registration, “what course can she do because I am not going home with her!”

“Oga she has an “A” in Geography so maybe Geography Education.”

I didn’t know it was possible to study geography not to talk of studying how to teach it. But as my father waved me goodbye from his blue 504 I knew the battle was lost.

During my second semester I was bored. So I decided to study ahead for my exams. And a miracle happened- 5A’s 5B’s and an E and by year 2 my GPA was 4.29. It suddenly occurred to me, I was smart, I just had to apply myself and do the work.

Never let failure stop you. Learn from your mistakes. Today I use my education degree as a lecturer and a coach. The gaps in your life will soon align. Stay patient stay focused #Careeradvice
