Lady Who Teaches Kids On The Street For Free Becomes An Ambassador, Meets Governor Sanwo Olu
Hard working industrious lady has is counting her blessings at the moment as she just became an ambassador. After dedicating her time selflessly to kids it finally paid off.
Sharing on LinkedIn, she wrote;
Never told anyone about my decision to teach street children except my mum. I didn’t want anyone to try to change my mind. When I shared my story here, I was very new to LinkedIn with about 100 connections; I didn’t even expect it to get any attention but surprisingly it did.
My friends sent me links of different blogs that had published the story and a lot of people reached out to me telling me how inspired they were by my boldness.
Two weeks later, I got a mail from the Lagos State Government acknowledging my work in advocating for SDG4 and stated that they would like me to be one of the SDG Ambassadors. I was surprised because I was chosen alongside amazing people.
Fast forward to Friday 10th September 2021, I had the humbling experience of meeting the Governor of Lagos State. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Our stories were shared and he was very impressed by what everyone of us have been doing towards the achievement of the various SDGs. He also promised us his unwavering support and commitment towards the achievement of all the 17 Goals.
I’m happy the Lagos State Government has chosen to support our service to humanity.
