Lady Celebrates Promotion At Google In Less Than Two Years Of Joining The Company

Hardworking lady named Yvonne Eyram Dumor has shared an inspirational story in how she got promoted at work after facing countless challenges. Sharing on her LinkedIn platform, she wrote:

Promotion!!!!🎉🎉🎉 #google #success What God can not do does not exist.


Indeed promotion doesn’t come from the East or the West but from God. (Psalm 75:6-7) 


In less than 2 years, having gone through a tough season of quickly learning the ropes and combined with psychological trauma from Covid-19, I got promoted!!💃


 This feat means a lot to me. For those who know the demands of promotion at Google will understand better.


 I joined Google from an indigenous Ghanaian company. In my first week at Google, I had imposter syndrome, I felt inadequate, measuring myself with others. But one great and valuable gift Google offers is kindness, and reassuring support from colleagues and managers.

I gave myself a personal goal, which was to be promoted in less than 2 years. This was a personal challenge I threw to myself.

This also implied hard work and agility. Oblivious to me was the pandemic. The pandemic hit and our working style changed, I had to acclimatise to working from home, the fear of contracting covid was even more exhausting than the actual virus.

During the pandemic I fell sick multiple times, I was rushed to the emergency room by a stranger. I also had surgery combined with stomach ulcer. At the peak of my many projects with hard timelines, my husband caught covid and I was his only caregiver.

This was not easy, but with prayers from family and friends, he got well. Hard work is fantastic but having the Holy Spirit who I usually address as sweet Holy Spirit, “my friend for all round success” is the icing on the cake.

I have been stuck many times but I just call him by his nicky for supernatural ideas and he does it without hesitation😊 My secret.
