“I Can Now Proudly Call Myself Canadian”- Nigerian Man Who Arrived Canada In 2018 Celebrates As He Becomes A Citizen

A man named Bamidele Salako who arrived Canada in year 2018 has just become a Canadian citizen.

He shared how it all began on LinkedIn in a lengthy post, read below:

I became a Canadian citizen today!

I am proud of the exceptional work I have done over the last four years with the SOPA Settlement Online Pre-Arrival and Calgary Catholic Immigration Society in making Canada🇨🇦a more welcoming home for other immigrants and enriching the Canadian fabric with my unique skills and talent.

Today, I received a warm welcome home myself, and I can now proudly call myself Canadian🇨🇦

This is a huge milestone for me, and my Canadian story would not be complete without a mention of the incredible support of my director, Gordana Radan, who took a chance on me when I first arrived in Canada in 2018 (and continues to), and Mark Samcoe for his kind and generous recommendation.

Special thanks also go to my first mentor, Farah Kaleem, for her warmth, wisdom and wealth of support which were invaluable in helping me remain optimistic and focused so I could successfully navigate the Canadian opportunity market during those first few months of landing.

I am also indebted to my wonderful current and former teammates at SOPA Alberta, Aneta Popa, CCS, Mirjana Borjan, BBA, Isis Sunna, Olja Stojanovic, Jothi E. Judith Jesu and Hasmik Asmaryan who have tremendously enriched my work life and personal life.

The biggest thanks goes to my darling wife, Toyin Salako, CPHR, MBA, who first broached this move and with whom I have built a life in Canada that I am eternally grateful for❤️

In service of God, country and humanity!🇨🇦

Congratulations to him.
