Interracial Couple, Blessed With 5 Kids, Celebrates 30 Years In Marriage, Shares Love Story

A man named Wes Hall, D.U has gone down memory lane as he celebrates 30 years in marriage.

Mr. Hall and his wife are blessed with 5 kids. Sharing their love story, he narrated how they both got married while he was age 22 and his wife was 19 years old and how people thought they were too young and needed experience.

Sharing the love story on LinkedIn with beautiful photos of his family, he wrote:

June 6, 1992 we got married. After dating Christine for six months I asked her to marry me. She was 19 and I was 22 years old. Many thought we were too young and needed life experience. But there are no guarantees in life.

Many expressed concerns about the struggles we would have being an interracial couple. Didn’t bother us. Still don’t. That’s why the expression “love is blind” is so fitting because it truly is.

The person you choose to spend the rest of your life with can influence the rest of your life. And that’s why it’s so important that others do not influence that choice. We have a tradition every anniversary to exchange gifts with each other. This has been our family tradition for the past 30 years and continued to this day.

Am very proud of what Christine and I have built together and the five wonderful children we raised. Because of our example I hope they will never settle and never let others influence who they chose to love and spend their life with. I didn’t have this type of stability growing up. I have 14 brothers and sisters and none with the same parents.

I promised myself growing up that if I ever am blessed to have children, they will have a very different experience. I consider myself a very wealthy man. But not by monetary standard.

Here is my definition: you are wealthy if you spend your time doing the things you want to do and not the things you must do; the people you want to do it with and the ability to use your time and resources to make others around you better. It’s also the respect and appreciation you receive from those who know you best.
