17-Year-Old Girl Starts Side Hustle To Support Her Single Mom Who Can Pay Their Sch Fees
A Grade 11 learner who watched her older brother struggle to get into university because their single mom – who is a domestic worker – couldn’t afford varsity fees has started a side hustle.
Shantel Dimingu (17) from Manenberg township decided to secure her future and pay varsity fees by #selling her own detergents.
“I really want to be a vet and I’m busy doing research, I’m doing very well academically. I heard the course is very expensive so I decided to buy and sell dishwashing liquid in order to help my mom raise varsity fees. I’m humbly asking you to please support me in my small business,” says Shantel in a post shared over social media.
This is such a great initiative to support – well done, Shantel.
