This South African entrepreneur built a reputation from the bottom up with a $644 loan.

Luvuyo Rani founded Silulo Ulutho Technologies in 2004 with his brother Lonwabo Rani ,to provide internet and computer access to a lower-income target market.

The award-winning IT services company has over 46 stores in townships and rural areas in the Western, Eastern Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal, 220 full-time staff members, and 18 franchisees.

After teaching accounting and entrepreneurship at the high school level, Rani decided to change his career path and focus on increasing access to technology in his hometown.

Rani started the business that would propel him into 2014 Forbes Magazine with a R10,000 loan.

In 2014, He was named one of the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (JCI TOYP) in the category of business, economics, and entrepreneurial accomplishments.

Luvuyo owes much of his success to his mother for the support he got from her when growing up.
