“The Decision Regarding The Dissolution Of My Marriage Was Not One I Initiated”- Asu Ekiye Shares Update
Asu Ekiye, popularly known as the “Prince of the Niger Delta,” is a multi-award-winning Nigerian gospel artist, songwriter, and cultural icon. He recently announced the end of his 28 years old marriage and based on the numerous calls he received he just shared an update explaining that his wife initiated the divorce and packed out of the house.
In his words:
POINT OF CLARIFICATION
DIVORCE UPDATE.
“Based on the numerous calls and messages I have received, I believe it is necessary to offer this clarification, respectfully and without any intention to cast aspersions on anyone.
The decision regarding the dissolution of my marriage was not one I initiated. My wife expressed her desire to end the marriage, packed out of my house and subsequently instituted divorce proceedings without any quarrels.
For about a year thereafter, I made every reasonable effort, and appealed to her in every way I could, hoping that we could reconsider and preserve the marriage. Unfortunately, those efforts did not yield the desired outcome, as she remained firm in her decision.
Having done all I could to seek reconciliation, I eventually came to the difficult decision to accept the reality of the situation and allow the divorce process to take its course.
I wish to make this clarification simply to set the record straight. I bear no bitterness or ill will toward anyone. After many years of shared experiences, I choose to approach this new chapter with grace, dignity, maturity and respect for all concerned.
