Pretty Lady Celebrates Becoming A Medical Doctor, Says Med School Was Challenging

Lady named Happiness Maduka has shared her motivating story on LinkedIn on the challenges she encountered before becoming a medical doctor. She wrote:

I remember the first time I thought of becoming a doctor- I had just done a couple of medical tests in the University College Hospital, Ibadan as requirement for entering a Federal Secondary school.

Through the years, that desire did not change. I was told that I needed to work extra hard to gain admission into the University of Ibadan and I did exactly as I was told.

I remember reminding myself before every test and exam that I want this, I want to be a doctor.

Med school was challenging! There were days I was exhausted to my bones, days I didn’t want to go to school, days I couldn’t have my devotion because I was too tired. Days I felt frustrated and wanted it to end.

Med school was fun too- I made friends who I now call family, I learnt to multitask and stretch myself beyond my comfort zone (I started a fabric business in school whilst actively volunteering and leading various organizations).

On the 28th of August, I took the Physicians oath and officially started this journey.

I’m grateful for the lessons I learnt in Med school, my teachers and all who have supported me on this journey.

Cheers to new beginnings 🥂

Congratulations to her.
