“One Of Olu’s Children Should Take To Acting” – Pete Edochie Pays Tribute To Late Actor

Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has paid an emotional tribute to his late friend and colleague, Olu Jacobs, describing him as a brother, a peaceful colleague and a humorous personality.

He also commiserated with Jacobs’ widow, Joke Silva, praised her for standing by him through his six-year health struggle and prayed that one of their children would continue his acting legacy.

In an emotional video shared online, Edochie said Jacobs “fought like a man” and “like the soldier” he had always known him to be. He described the late actor as humorous, peaceful and someone who maintained a private life shared closely with himself and his wife, Joke Silva.

“Olu, my brother, he fought like a man. He fought like the soldier I have always known him to be. Rest in peace,” Edochie said.

Addressing Joke Silva, he commiserated with her over the six years she spent dealing with her husband’s health challenges and urged her to celebrate his life and legacy.

“Joke, you did your best; though Olu has gone, be glad and celebrate Olu’s life,” he said.

Edochie also expressed hope that one of Olu Jacobs’ children would take up acting so the family and Nollywood could continue to remember his legacy through them.

He concluded with a reflection on death, saying, “If it’s true that people recognise themselves after death, then there is a possibility we will meet again.”
