Nigerian man named Henry Ezeugwu who was once a Keke driver has shared his career journey on Facebook, Henry noted that he had so many rejection letters, but today he has been privileged to have been chosen as a University of Helsinki Scholar 2025/26 and the scholarship is worth 36000€ Euros for two years!

In his words:

“From that Keke Rider in New Park, Nsukka, saying ‘Hello from Helsinki!!!’✨🇫🇮

After so many rejection letters, I am privileged to share that I have officially been chosen as a University of Helsinki Scholar 2025/26! The scholarship is worth 36000€ Euros for two years!

Out of hundreds of applicants from across the globe, only about 60 future leaders were selected — and I am blessed to be among them.

This September, I begin my studies at the University of Helsinki, pursuing an MA (Ed) in Changing Education @ OSA ry 📘👩‍🎓

The university of Helsinki is in top 100 Best University in the world, according to QS Best University Ranking.

Through my studies, I will gain advanced expertise, hands-on skills, and innovative strategies and knowledge needed for working on issues related to education in positions of administration, development, research, and training. It will prepare me with expertise in critical thinking and independent information gathering, as well as skills in scientific communication and applying theoretical knowledge and methods to make a tangible difference — at home and beyond.

Reaching this milestone reminds me that every struggle, setback, and late night of hard work was worth it. I step into this next chapter with hope, determination, and a commitment to bring the knowledge and skills I gain back home — contributing to sustainable and equal access to education for all, through the help of learning technology.

To aspiring scholars, leaders, and change-makers: take the leap. This experience will challenge you, transform you, and open doors to global networking. The #University_of_Helsinki doesn’t just offer scholarships — they give you a platform to lead, inspire, give back, and create lasting change.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the #University_of_Helsinki for this life-changing opportunity and for investing in young leaders committed to making a difference.”
