COVID-19: 34-year-old Nigerian Chinedu Ekwunife dies in US

It is another sad day for a family in Nigeria after their 34-year-old son, Chinedu Ekwunife, who is an engineer, was announced dead as a result of COVID-19. Engineer Chinedu died in the United States of America, a country heavily ravaged by COVID-19, also known as coronavirus.

Chinese was described as a first-class software engineer, who was greatly admired for his intellect and subtle nature.

Chinedu’s death occurred weeks after the Nigerian government commenced evacuation of the country’s citizens from some countries.

Legit.ng had reported that stranded Nigerians in the United Kingdom sent a save-our-soul message to the federal government asking that they be evacuated from the foreign land. The stranded Nigerians reportedly expressed great frustration over how their evacuation was being delayed by the federal government. The Nigerians had said that the government did not have the right to keep its citizens out of the country for whatever reason, according to a statement released by Olajoke Adesipe, a representative of the Nigerians, who noted that most of them are negative for coronavirus.

Chinedu’s death comes at a period Nigeria continues to evacuate its citizens.
