“My Daughter Turned Fifteen, And She Doesn’t Have A Phone—Bisola Speaks On Raising Her Daughter Alone
BBNaija reality star and Nollywood actress Bisola Aiyeola has expressed that raising children should not be the responsibility of just one person.
In an interview with Maria Chike on an episode of “Mum’s Next Door” on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, Bisola shared her views on parenting.
She stated, “Raising children shouldn’t be solely for one person. I think people shouldn’t raise children for selfish reasons, like just because I want to have a child.”
Bisola explained that she raised her child in a traditional African manner. “My daughter turned fifteen, and she doesn’t have a phone. I probably might have disciplined her too much,” she admitted.
She gave an example from her parenting approach: “Today, you are going to learn to say ‘potty.’ When you want to wee-wee, you say ‘potty.’ Please, don’t spank your kids. Sometimes, my daughter looks at me and says, ‘I think you are a witch.’… Don’t follow boys, don’t get pregnant.”
Bisola concluded that she doesn’t want to raise any more children alone, saying, “If I must do this again, I don’t want to do it alone. I was much younger when I had Linda.”
