What inspired you to start up your businesss?
God has been my source of inspiration from inception. Been an artist is a natural endowment ;I call it “follow come” #lol. I recall when I was still a child, my dad then was into supply of stationeries to schools within my locale. I had this flare to replicate images which prompted me to spoil some of his text books and carbon papers. He will then beat me, but still I didn’t stop. Little did we know that lil Frank was obeying his calling #lol. Art has always flowed in me naturally as I have never been mentored or tutored by anyone to get to the level I am today, it has been me and my God all the way.
How were you able to raise fund for your business?
Raising of fund has not been easy as I have still not gotten a studio for myself ;working on commission base from home and sometimes from the salon where I work as a stylist. But Personal savings have done great for me thus far.
How do you advertise your business?
I advertise my works on the various available and more user friendly social media platforms ;the likes of Facebook, WhatsApp and instagram.
What are the challenges you’ve faced while running your business?
Just like any other business, art business have got its own challenges such as financial constraints as quality art materials tend to be cost effective. Location is also a challenging factor owing to the fact that not everyone appreciate art, as well as nearness to art supplies to mitigate cost of importation.
Human related problems are also challenging as sometimes you get a commissioned work and at the end of the day the client refuses to come pick up thereby leaving you at the loosing end. Still on the human related problems ;some people see artists as magicians who should by all means replicate in totality what is depicted on a photographed image, forgetting we are humans not machines and we are licensed to add or subtract features as we dim fit on any portraits.
How does it feel being your own boss?
It feels like home to be my own boss #lol. I order myself around, work at my own pace with no one threatening me with a sack letter.
Has it been financially rewarding?
Art has been financially rewarding with the right clients.
Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
In the next 5 years I see myself in the lime light of greater heights, a man to be reckoned with in all my endeavours as an artist, stylist, and educationist by the grace of God.
