Media Personality Morayo Reveals Her Husband Was Jobless During The Early Years Of Their Marriage, However, His Lack Of Employment Did Not Diminish The Respect She Had For Him
Media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown has shared her perspective on what makes a man worthy of respect in marriage, stressing that financial provision alone does not define a husband.
Speaking at Kayhikersclub, Afolabi-Brown said leadership, responsibility and the way a man carries himself are equally important in a marriage.
According to her, her husband did not have a job when they got married, and she handled the family’s finances during their first few years together. However, his lack of employment did not diminish the respect she had for him.
“Money is important, but that’s not what makes your husband a husband. It’s the ability to lead,” she said.
Describing her husband as “a man’s man,” she explained that his conduct and sense of responsibility made his role in the home clear despite their financial circumstances.
“The first few years, I was doing everything. But you would never know. Not because of what I did, but because of how he carried himself,” she said.
She recalled how he prayed for her before she left home, took an interest in her work and remained involved in their household.
“When it comes to the house, he takes decisions, we discuss. So even though things are not financially ok, I still respected him because he was a man’s man,” Afolabi-Brown added.
She concluded that women value a man who demonstrates leadership and inspires confidence, saying, “What is good is good, but that leadership, I believe in you. It’s important to us.”
