I Joined BBNaija To Fulfil Vow To My Late Brother – Martins

BBNaija’s Martins Iyeh, the former BBNaija ‘Show Ya Sef’ housemate, has revealed that a five-year-old promise to his late elder brother motivated his decision to join the reality show.

Martins, who was evicted from season 11 alongside fellow housemate Mercedes last Sunday, shared his story in a recent interview with TheCable Lifestyle.

He revealed that he had pledged to his brother years ago that he would secure a spot in the BBNaija house.

Although his brother passed away before the promise could be fulfilled, Martins says he remained committed to seeing it through.

“I made a promise to my elder brother that I was going to get there and I did. I promised him that I was going to do that five years ago before he passed and now I am here,” he said.

The reality star said he aims to use the platform to inspire others.

“To whom much is given, much is expected. I am continuing what I have already been doing for the past seven years, if not the bulk of my life which is try as much as I can to be an inspiration to as many people as possible,” he added.

The 2026 season premiered on July 26 with 24 housemates. This year’s winner stands to claim a record-breaking grand prize of N160 million, the largest payout in the reality show’s history since its debut in 2006.
