I moved to the UK for my master’s degree program, and it still feels like a dream.
I remembered how I pinched myself at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja after I passed all immigration checks and finally found myself inside the already steaming aircraft waiting to take off any minute. The series of events felt like a dream until I landed at Heathrow airport the next day.
Getting here, and settling down was quite difficult. It was a herculean task getting all the supporting documents for my application because virtually every arm of the university staff was on indefinite strike. Lecturers were at home; students were languishing and even graduates that needed something from the university at that time were not spared. I will forever remain grateful to my academic mentor who went out of his way to give me every needed assistance despite the inconvenience it caused him.
No matter how long it takes me to publish my life’s journal, Prof will occupy a conspicuous page.
I know it seems stressful but my passion for ProjectManagement brought me this far. I have always been fascinated by the whole concept of process flows which is the bedrock of managing projects; the series of events around the building of gigantic models, organizing and hosting big events, and building new software features. So, you should understand my excitement when I eventually arrived in the UK to study Project Management at the University of Northampton.
It’s been two months now and all I can say is ‘amazing’!
I am quite overwhelmed by the tremendous opportunities and exciting experiences this new phase of my life is offering. Every day in this new career path introduces me to an exciting range of knowledge about how best to manage projects and the variables around them, utilizing the resources and delivering projects while working around the different constraints.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped me on the journey to this mission; my family and friends. I owe you all in ways words alone cannot explain.
