Man Who Ate Only Dinner Because He Was Broke, Finally Succeeds, Becomes CEO, Now Has 33 Employee 7 Years After
This is a must read story for someone who should never give up.
A man named Chinonso Ogbogu has shared an amazing transformational story on how he suffered for 7 years, and how he had just 1,300 in his account.
He also ate once a day. His victory came when he moved to Lagos coincidentally Oct 1st.
Hence he has decided to share his story. Read his post below;
‘Today makes it 7 years that I relocated to Lagos as a frustrated, broke, and dejected young man.
The business I was running in Enugu crashed!
I was in debt!
I was living from hand to mouth.
Where I lived back then was like where pigs stayed, with a dirty pit toilet everyone shared.
I had snakes crawling into my room.
I had no curtain for my door and window.
My cooking stove was so bad.
I used to hold it up with small stones.
At some point, I got fed up bringing the stove outside to cook, so I began cooking in my room.
Whenever I cooked, my room was filled with smoke.
On many occasions, I avoided eating morning and afternoon so I could save the money to have something to eat at night.
My eating pattern was mostly: 0 – 0 – 1
I did everything I could but nothing seemed to be working for me in my life and business.
I was so broke I only had N1300 in my account.
N1000 as the minimum balance that the bank would never release and N300 I could access.
So out of shame to stand in the bank queue to withdraw N300, I decided to collect N700 from a customer in the banking hall.
I paid the N700 into my account at an enclosed counter and went outside the banking hall and withdrew N1000 from the ATM.
I badly needed the money just to eat.
My house rent too was due and I couldn’t pay.
When I told my landlord I was finally leaving Enugu, he called me to his room and told me he has decided to write off my outstanding debts.
I couldn’t believe it!
I cried.
I thanked him and packed out.
All I brought to Lagos on Oct. 1st, 2014 were 12 big Ghana-must-go bags loaded with books.
I couldn’t even pay my fare to Lagos.
It was my elder sister who sent N30,000 to bring me to Lagos.
As the first son, I was so ashamed of myself but I had to move back to my family house in Ajegunle without anything to show for it.
I arrived Lagos at 12 midnight.
My dad was at the park waiting to take me home.
I was exhausted, sick, and confused.
The next day, I was rushed to the hospital.
I was there for weeks!
Life knocked me to the ground!
But then, I decided to pick my broken pieces, dig my heels in and start rebuilding from scratch.
Today, October 1st 2021.
7 years later.
