After 7 years of industry experience in some of Nigeria’s most innovative #aquaculture projects, I’m excited to share with you that I’m commencing graduate school, this summer, at Auburn University in the United States on a full-tuition scholarship with an assistantship.
My research thesis in Timothy J. Bruce, Ph.D.’s lab will be focused on fish health and disease issues within #warmwater aquaculture production systems.
My desire to attend graduate school began five years ago. In this pursuit, I’ve applied for several full-funded #scholarships from a number of prestigious overseas consortiums and schools, but rejected in over 25 applications. With each rejection, I gained better insight on the next application, and better understanding of the niche I want. It was very difficult to manage rejections, but the dream of accomplishment fueled every fightback.
Master thanks goes to Almighty God for the successful transition. Many thanks to my parents and family for their love and prayers.
I want to appreciate my Undergraduate Supervisor Oluwaseun Ojelade PhD for her support with the academic and professional recommendations. Many appreciation to Andrew Leingang for your unwavering support and recommendation throughout the process. Big shout out to Rob Fletcher and The Fish Site.
Special thanks to Patec Foods Limited, my bosses Israel Tommy Ifedolapo Atinmo, Fadu Fredrick. My supporting colleagues and friends, Temitayo Akinyode, Ibraheem Afolabi, Temitope Osideko, Deborah Balogun, Ahmed Adedeji, Stephen Olalere, thank you.
