Man Shares How His Wife Got Several Rejections From Hiring Managers Because She Was Pregnant, But 2 Years After The Incident, She Became An HR Coordinator At An International Organization

A man named Lamide Johnson who just wanted to celebrate his wife during the international women’s day, has gone down memory lane.

Lamide recounts sad moments when his wife got several rejections from hiring managers, even though they loved her resume. His wife was pregnant at that time.

Two years after the incident she became a Human Resource coordinator in an international organization.

Lamide celebratoe his wife’s strength, tenacity and resilience.

Sharing a photo of his beautiful wife, he wrote:

My wife and I sat in the car, weeping as we read yet another rejection email from a top institution in Nigeria. We had been job hunting for a bit, and this wasn’t the first one, it was one of several rejections we had received from hiring managers.

They loved her resume. They loved the virtual interviews. But when they saw her, and found she was pregnant – she was not an option.

Such bias, bias that needs to be broken!

One thing was certain for Funmi Ajayi she was focused, committed and she had the will to build her career. Two years after this incident, she rose to become the Human Resource Coordinator of an international organization. There’s no stopping her!

Today, I celebrate the strength, tenacity and resilience of women.
