Lady Asks For Pads On Her Birthday, Hands Them Out To Less Privileged

A young lady recently used her birthday to help make society a better place. Taking to Facebook’s ImStaying group, Phumzile Nxumalo shared how she had asked her loved ones to gift her with sanitary pads as opposed to the usual birthday gifts. She wrote: “On the 30th of November I celebrated my birthday. So I asked for sanitary pads as gifts. And I managed to get 150 packets of sanitary pads on the day.

Yesterday I was handing them out in style in my community, we had snacks and raffle prizes, 40 girls showed up.

“Thanks to everyone that donated and made this to be possible for me and the girls. Anyway it was the best day of my life so for that, that’s why #ImStaying.”
