Governor Alex Otti Shows The Hungarian Ambassador A Shoe Made In Abia, Set To Partner With The Hungarian Government To Establish A Manufacturing Presence In Abia State That Will Create Job Opportunities
Alex Otti is a Nigerian economist, banker, investor, philanthropist, and politician, serving as the current Governor of Abia State in Nigeria.
He is the former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, a retail financial institution in Nigeria.
Just recently the governor shared his experience after meeting with the Hungarian Deputy Ambassador. Read his post below as shared on twitter:
“In August, I met with the Hungarian Deputy Ambassador in my office. We discussed potential investment areas ranging from agriculture and health care to education, security, and portable drinking water access. Now in Hungary, on a working visit, I have been privileged to explore these opportunities firsthand.
We visited two companies that impressed me with their innovative products and services:
- OrtoProfil: An exceptional medical aid service provider that crafts custom limb prostheses, electronic wheelchairs, and orthopaedic therapeutic footwear, insoles for flat-foot and diabetic foot. The quality and functionality of their products have the potential to improve the lives of many with disabilities in Abia State.
- Agrár Béta Group: A bioenergy farm (biogas plant and bioethanol factory) that self-produces 1.7 megawatts of power. Beyond just power generation, the heat from the plant can dry agricultural products, like mangoes. They have also excelled in hybrid maizeproduction and provide training in bioenergy farm processes.
We are looking forward to partnering with these companies to help them establish a manufacturing presence in Abia State. Through these partnerships, we aim to create jobs and add value to our economy. I believe that by working together with our Hungarian friends, we can achieve great things for our people.
We were later hosted to a reception by the Nigerian Ambassador to Hungary H.E Modupe Enitan Irele. I was joined by the Abia State Government delegation and a business delegation from Abia State.
