Edward went further to share a motivational post on why one must not give up in life and how he discovered his talent in marketing despite studying accounting.

“It’s time to rethink the ‘never give up’ mantra. While perseverance is essential, blindly chasing a dream that’s not meant to be can lead to stagnation.

I learned this after passing my level 1 ICAG exams to become an accountant. Although I landed a job in the field, thanks to a senior friend’s connection, I soon realized that my true purpose lay elsewhere – marketing communications

So, I made the bold decision to give up and pursue a path that aligns with my natural talents and passions.

I don’t consider the time spent learning accounting as wasted, as I gained valuable knowledge that will still benefit my career.

The key takeaway is that it’s okay to evolve and reinvent ourselves. We don’t have to be bound by our initial choices. Many successful individuals have transitioned from one field to another, finding fulfillment in unexpected places.

It takes wisdom to recognize when to abandon a doomed pursuit and refocus on a path that leads to a fulfilling life. Sometimes, giving up is not a sign of failure, but a sign of courage and self-awareness.

Embrace the freedom to explore and discover your true purpose – you never know where it might lead you.

Unlike some people who are fortunate to discover their path right from the start, majority of us had to try so many things and settle on what best suits us

There are people who read engineering and ended up as bankers

There are people who were great mathematicians who are now musicians

There are people who studies law who found purpose in art

When you discover what you’re supposed to do, giving up on a path you were already on is not a sign of defeat but a sign of courage to start afresh on a path that aligns with your vision

“NEVER GIVE UP” is for the grand scheme of pursing success. You can give up on one method that doesn’t work and adopt another that suits you best
