
From A Street Vendor To A Successful Attorney And Businesswoman Who Owns A Law Firm, Meet Maleti Fakude
Meet – Maleti Fakude, an inspirational admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and Founder of Fakude MJ Incorporated, a law firm with offices in Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Mpumalanga provinces.
She was born and raised in Botlokwa village in the Limpopo province.
She sold tomatoes for her mother from the age of 7 until she was in High School.
She would get paid R1 every time she make sales less than R6 and R2 if she exceeded R6 and no pay if she sold less than R3.
As she grew older, she started saving her R2 and asked her mom to buy her own crates of tomatoes which at the time was R12 and after selling moms tomatoes she sold hers.
Maleti Fakude holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Limpopo, a Legal Practice in Legal from the University of South Africa and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethics from the Stellenbosch Business School.
She is a member of Female Founders Initiative Middle East and Africa and Founder of Spotless Finish Cleaning Services.
From 17 to 21 May 2023, Maleti will be attending the SheEO Leadership Training Bootcamp in Dubai, a platform that provides female business leaders a chance to network with fellow entrepreneurs, innovators, and professionals.
“I loved the whole idea of being independent and learning to save money at a young age, which later became the force behind my success.”
“I had to thrive and succeed in everything I did and that shaped me into the businesswoman I am today, I have no room for failure because I had the best mentor (my mom),” said Maleti Fakude.
