Dbanj Opens Up On Split From Don Jazzy, Says Decision Came From Don Jazzy 100%,

Nigerian music star Dbanj has offered fresh insight into his separation from long-time collaborator Don Jazzy, revealing that the decision to go their separate ways was made entirely by Don Jazzy.

Speaking on The Micon Podcast, Dbanj stressed that there is no bad blood between them.

“The idea to go separate ways didn’t come from me. It came from Don Jazzy 100%, and that’s why we still have no issues,” he said. “He gave me everything he could on my catalog, including unreleased tracks.”

Dbanj reflected on their partnership with gratitude, noting that their split was driven by timing and evolving visions rather than conflict.

“I move like a bullet train. Even when it stops, it’s for a minute. This journey requires moving with time, and that’s what I’ve always focused on,” he added.

He also highlighted the enduring impact of their work together, pointing to their hit song Oliver Twist as a defining moment that strengthened their global influence even after parting ways.
