BBNaija’s Dede Urges Fans To Reduce Pressure On Ex-Housemates
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Precious Ashiogwu, popularly known as Dede, has appealed to fans to ease the pressure placed on ex-contestants after the show.
In a video shared online, Dede described life after BBNaija as overwhelming, revealing that she personally struggled to adjust. She noted that although she planned to take a long break from social media, ongoing commitments made it difficult to stay offline.
She emphasized that no housemate promised to entertain fans nonstop once the show ended, stressing that such expectations are unfair. Many ex-contestants, she said, are juggling personal responsibilities, pursuing new opportunities, and navigating major lifestyle changes while trying to protect their mental health.
Dede also addressed the rivalry among fan bases, explaining that most housemates are focused on their own goals rather than competing with one another. Despite this, she often receives messages pressuring her to post more frequently, which she described as intrusive.
“People’s mental health is at stake. Give them time,” she said, urging fans to respect the need for rest.
She concluded that former housemates are under no obligation to maintain constant online activity, and those who choose to stay offline for days or even weeks should be allowed to do so without criticism.
