She says:
Mid 2019 my father would randomly talk about his new friend Jide and said he really wanted me to meet him. Well my father is an Ambassador and with the nature of the work that I do as a doctor working with individuals with Autism; I assumed it was work related and since I normally attend functions with Daddy- I didn’t think anything of meeting just friend. Fast track to Summer 2020 during the pandemic I was transitioning to my new house so I was in between Lagos and Ogun State. My father and I are extremely close so we talk everyday and see one another at least 3 times a week.
He always spoke about his friend Jide. Jide this and Jide that- I just felt aww Daddy has a new best friend that he truly enjoys his company. My Dad asked me to come over with him to greet his friend for about 4 months- but I was distracted with moving and work that again I didn’t make myself available.
After months of asking me to make myself available , my father decided to invite his “friend” over to my new house – mind you I was moving in. I obliged since I’ve been making excuses for about a year- and low and beyond this young man walks in my front door.
And remember I’m assuming my Dads friend is in his mid 60s- so when I see this young man I say Hi. It’s nice to meet you. You must be Jide’s son, I’ve heard so much about your Dad. He looked at me confused and my Dad laughed. My Dad said this is Jide my friend- and in confusion I said Wait What? 👀 but you’ve been hanging out with Jide and assumed he was your age mate.
Lesson learned – never assume – always ask questions 🤣
After the introduction we spoke in length and Jide was intrigued by what he has already heard, the nature of my work, life and just that women like this still exist 😉. Before they left my place Daddy used his charisma to get us to exchange numbers (such a GuyMan) and the rest is history. And that’s how I met my best friend, homie and husband, ASP Babajide Taiwo!
God bless your new home guys!
