An inspiring Facebook post has brought hope and pride to many South Africans. Mawisa Chauke shared her brief yet inspiring story on Facebook group Varsity World.

Mawisa is a Master’s graduate who was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer around the time of her graduation. She shared images of her fully clad in her black graduation gown and cap with a face full of tears. In the second image, she can be seen smiling through the pain.

The post has over 800 reactions and almost 50 shares.

“I don’t understand why am I crying, I was happy for my graduation but also hurt for just being diagnosed with cancer.”

The comment section is full of heartwarming congratulatory messages after the latter part of the post confirmed that Mawisa had won her battle against breast cancer.
