33-year-old Abby celebrated for becoming a nurse after starting as a cleaner

Royal Papworth Hospital, a specialist heart and lung hospital located in England, took to Linkedln to celebrate Abby who, they stated, is well on her way to becoming an integral part of their medical centre.

They recalled how she made a promise to become a nurse 10 years ago when she joined them as a cleaner.

Now 33, Abby is not only living that dream but silently climbing the profession’s ladder. The hospital shared a photo of Abby in a nursing outfit with an infectious smile that was still obvious despite being covered with a face mask.

Their post read: “From NHS cleaner to NHS nurse. “At the age of 33, Abby is about to become a qualified nurse in our critical care team, fulfilling a promise she made to herself when joining the NHS 10 years ago as a cleaner. “Her journey since then has involved living in Tunisia, Birmingham and Cambridge, progressing from a band one on the NHS career ladder all the way through to what will be a band five come next month. “Congratulations, Abby.”
