Why should you retire when you will still have bills to be paid for the rest of your life. Retirement makes people bored , depressed and broke. No matter the gratuity you receive, even if it’s in millions the money will finish one day, and pray you don’t have a bad investment.

I always ponder when I hear that someone retired at 60-65 , I mean literally life should begin at 60. You don’t want to be a broke grand dad or mum.

While working at that job, start a side hustle, something you’re passionate about, and give it time to thrive, by the time you retire, you sure have something to fall back to.

Another bitter truth is you may not get everything you want if you depend on your children after you retire. Nigeria is tough, jobs is scarce and most graduates still struggle in their parents house till 35 years.

I remember a lady who relocated her full family abroad because working as a doctor she treated someone at the hospital bed whose children could not clear his medical bills, the reason was because the children were not doing well. It was an eye opener for her, so she relocated her kids abroad to give them good education where they won’t graduate and start wasting years looking for job

Another truth is your pension is even too small to meet your needs. But if you had started that sides hustle while working at your job, you would ve grown gradually and even expand your business with part of your gratuity.

You will be busy despite your retirement, earn more money and the good news is there is no retirement, because you are now the boss..
