“We Have A Nanny That Has Been With Us Since He Was Three Months Old”- Tiwa Savage Speaks On Raising Her Son As Career Woman

Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage has shared insights into the struggles and wins in her journey as a mother and a career woman.

In a recent interview on the Big Friday show, the Afrobeats singer opened up about balancing her career with single motherhood.

She credited her support system, highlighting the importance of support, especially from her mother and a long-time nanny, in raising her son, Jamil.

In her words, “It takes a village, raising my son as a single mum. I always need my mum. I call on my mum, she’s very instrumental, and we have a nanny that has been with us since he was three months old, and he’s nine now, so she has been with us for nine years”.

Tiwa Savage also acknowledged her son’s godmother, who assists when she’s away for work.

She praised women’s ability to juggle multiple roles, calling it their “superpower,” and shared that even as a mother herself, her mother still cares for her deeply.

“I look at my mum, and she still mothers me at this age. She still calls to ask if I’ve eaten and tells me to drink lots of water and rest. When she sees things online, she still worries about me at my big age. Our jobs don’t end.” She said.

The singer-songwriter is set to release her new anticipated single “Forgiveness” on Friday
