Afolabi Olumide Ayodeji breaks a decade-long record in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an exceptional 370 — the highest mark in over ten years.
According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), no candidate has attained this score since at least 2013, cementing Afolabi’s accomplishment as a remarkable milestone in academic excellence.
The record stands as the highest of all time since the introduction of JAMB’s Computer-Based Testing (CBT) in 2013.
Afolabi, a gifted young scholar with a relentless passion for learning, has emerged as a symbol of hope and pride for a nation eager for uplifting youth representation.
Today, we proudly reveal the face of this young prodigy to the world—a face that embodies brilliance, determination, and a renewed sense of hope for the future of education in Nigeria.
Reflecting on his achievement, Afolabi humbly expressed his gratitude, saying, “I didn’t set out to break any record; I just wanted to give my best. I thank God, my parents, and my teachers for believing in me.”
This achievement stands as a powerful call to action for educational stakeholders, mentors, and policymakers to invest more intentionally in identifying and nurturing gifted students across the country.
Afolabi’s story is not merely about a record-breaking score—it’s a testament to what becomes possible when talent is met with opportunity.
