Popular media personality Chude Jideonwo has added his voice to the growing outrage following the recent attack on schools in Oyo State.
The media figure, widely recognised for interviewing top personalities within and outside the entertainment scene, visited the affected communities to witness the aftermath of the incident firsthand.
During the visit, he met with residents and entered one of the classrooms where several pupils were reportedly abducted.
In a video shared online, Chude expressed shock over what he saw at the scene. He pointed out that the pupils’ school bags and books were still scattered around the classroom days after the attack.
“These are the bags and school books of the students who were kidnapped. They were literally in the middle of class when the bandits came. You have to be here physically to understand the enormity of what Nigeria has allowed to happen to our children, the generational trauma, it is a disgrace and it is a tragedy,” he said.
The attack reportedly occurred at Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota; Community Grammar School, Esiele; and LA Primary School in Ogbomoso, all located within Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Reports from the Oyo State Police Command revealed that two people lost their lives during the assault. In addition, dozens of schoolchildren, alongside a school principal and several teachers, were allegedly taken away by the gunmen.
