The circle is official closed ⭕

15-year old me had a dream of studying abroad. A dream which was hardly feasible given that my parent’s situation didn’t allow them to provide me with any financial support whatsoever.

Hence I spent my teenage years working for £2.5 per hour on the factory floor, and with 1.5 hour commute in each direction. Summer before uni, I worked in a bakery, which meant 4.30 am mornings and standing next to 500°C ovens in Croatia’s sweltering summer heat.

I arrived to the UK with nothing but a suitcase and £2000 saved from my summer jobs. To sustain myself, I immediately took up two part time jobs. Being a completely self funded student who worked even during the busy exam seasons brought me dangerously close to the snapping point.

… and yet here I stand.
