Peller’s Mom Spoke Warmly About Iyabo Ojo’s Generosity During The Early Years Of Their Friendship

Peller’s mother has opened up about her long-standing friendship with actress Iyabo Ojo, shedding light on how the two women lost contact years ago and eventually found their way back to each other — with Iyabo Ojo present and seated beside her at Peller’s wedding to Jarvis.

In a throwback video interview that has been making the rounds, Peller’s mom spoke warmly about Iyabo Ojo’s generosity during the early years of their friendship.

According to her, “Iyabo Ojo is a good person and a good mother. I remember back then when I went to visit her, and I was heading back home, she would tell me to open her food store and pack foodstuffs. She used to give me clothes too. Even her child’s clothes, Festus. Whenever she travelled to London too, she used to buy things for my children.

You know she loves going out, and she used to invite me with her, but I couldn’t have time for my children; they were with my grandmother then.

One day they called me and said Peller was very sick and they said I should come back home. When I got home, everyone was saying I should stop doing theatre so I could focus on my children.

So I stopped visiting her. Back then, there was no social media or mobile phone, so Iyabo Ojo couldn’t reach me, so we lost contact. Years after another colleague in the industry was having a ceremony, so I went; that was were i saw her again.

She was so surprised to see me again. I apologised for suddenly leaving. She even volunteered that I should come and stay with her and my kids, but I said no. So that was how I stopped acting.”
