The vice president told his listeners that there was a need to speedily implement the N2.3 trillion stimulus package approved by the federal government, Daily Trust reported. Osinbajo says rising economic hardship in Nigeria is caused by COVID-19.

According to him, the implementation of the stimulus package will mitigate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy.

He said it was important for government policies to be implemented quickly and effectively due to the economic challenges brought by the pandemic. “We’ve got to ensure that we have the money and ensure that day by day, we are measuring our achievements and trying to ensure that we do the things that we need to do,” Osinbajo said.

The vice president stated the economic fortunes of Nigeria will be able to turn around if those in government are able to implement policies effectively.
