Nigerian twin doctors in the United States are on the front lines of New York City’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Doctors Uche and Oni Blackstock are doing all within their power to ensure that the city wins the fight against the deadly disease. Oni Blackstock and her sister are making the black community proud.

The twin doctors are black women whose stories are inspiring due to the impact they are making in the medical field. Dr Uche is the founder of Advancing Health Equity, a racial equity consulting practice that helps train healthcare organisations in unconscious and structural racism, Mother Jones reports.

The twins were raised in Brooklyn by their physician mother, Dale Gloria Blackstock. According to Dr Uche, she and her sister wanted to be just like their mother who she said was very dedicated to her patients. She said: “We knew that she was very dedicated to her patients and that she really reaped a lot of joy from being a physician. It was impossible for that not to rub off on us.”
