Nigerian President Must Spend His Holiday in Nigeria, Not Abroad, This Will Start From Me, President Tinubu Has Not Spent Three Night Anywhere in Nigeria — Peter Obi

Former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has called for a change in the way Nigerian presidents spend their holidays, arguing that the country’s leader should remain in Nigeria and experience the realities faced by citizens.

Speaking on Arise News Television, Obi said he would make it a priority to spend his vacation within the country if elected president, insisting that Nigerian leaders should not distance themselves from the challenges affecting different parts of the nation.

“This will start from me and people will see it. Nigerian president must spends his vacation in Nigeria. We cannot continue with this nonsense. He should go to vacation in Zamfara, boronu, Anambra or anywhere”

When the interviewer noted that some of the places mentioned are affected by Boko Haram, Obi maintained that the president should still be willing to visit and stay in those parts of the country.

“It doesn’t matter because that’s the country he lives. That’s where he get the money to Europe. That’s why I want us to bring post-parliamentary system”

“As president of Nigeria, I will visit other countries, but I will not take my holidays in other countries. President Tinubu has not slept three night anywhere in nigeria”

Obi also cited previous visits by President Bola Tinubu to parts of the country, questioning why the president did not stay longer to directly engage with the challenges confronting residents.

“He went to Jos and didn’t stay say there was no light, light that he is suppose to provide? He went to Benue say there was no good road. When he should have stayed for three days with them and discuss these k+llings”

On how he will begin his own holidays once he becomes President and spend festive holidays he said; “I will go to sokoto and spend sallah will sultan and we discuss these future”
